On September 9, 2012, Winchester Baptist Church was planted by Sterling Park Baptist Church (Sterling, VA) which was planted by Capitol Hill Baptist Church (Washington DC). What a beautiful and biblical example of “healthy churches planting healthy churches!” By God's grace, we hope to continue that pattern for the gospel and the glory of Christ.
Our desire is to faithfully reflect what Scripture teaches a church should BE and DO. At the heart, that means loving God (worship), loving one another (community), and loving our neighbors (mission) in Winchester and around the world. So we describe our life together as a church in terms of Worship, Community, and Mission—and as such organize this website in that way as well.
Beyond those basics, every church has a unique personality. Our personality can best be described by a passion for the kinds of Biblical essentials articulated by our friends at 9Marks. The hyperlinks below enable you to watch a brief video description.
We are pleased to partner Together for the Gospel with a number of churches, organizations, and individuals, including: Pillar Network (churches planting churches), 9Marks, Southern Baptist Convention (SBCV), and two global mission partnerships in South Africa and UAE.
