A Few [ but not all ] Core Values

THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD: We believe that God, by virtue of His person and work, is sovereign over all things. God (Father, Son, and Spirit) is inexpressibly glorious in His perfections and worthy of all worship. All things have been created by Him, through Him, and for Him (Romans 11:36).

THE SUPREMACY OF CHRIST: We believe that Jesus Christ, being one with God the Father, has been given supremacy over all things by His Father because of His sacrificial death on the cross and resurrection from the grave. This belief causes us to treasure Christ above all things and to gladly follow Him as disciples. The Father has given Him Lordship over all creation and headship over His Church (Colossians 1:15-20).

THE SUFFICIENCY OF SCRIPTURE: We believe that Scripture is inspired, inerrant, authoritative, and sufficient to accomplish the work of God in the heart of man (2 Timothy 3:16-17). This high view of the sufficiency of Scripture drives our passion for expository preaching. All that we do is saturated in and driven by Scripture (preaching, praying, reading, and singing).

THE POWER OF THE GOSPEL: We believe that the gospel is the life-giving power by which the Holy Spirit regenerates those who are spiritually dead (Romans 1:16). For this reason, we believe that our responsibility in evangelism is to present the gospel clearly and then call sinners to repentance and faith in Christ.

THE PRIORITY OF THE CHURCH: We believe that the church is God’s primary means of accomplishing His mission because it was to the church that He gave the great commission (Matthew 28:18-20 and Acts 1:8). As a result, this local church is a gathering of believers who have been transformed by the power of the gospel and have committed themselves to God, to the gospel, and then to one another. Jesus said that the most defining and alluring mark of Christianity is the believer's love for one another. So, our desire is to display the love of Christ by “one anothering.”
